By learning about the cultural rituals and gestures that go on in the country I'm living in, I notice more about my own culture. The one that I notice is that no one says anything when you sneeze. In English speaking countries, we say "Bless you" or the original longer, less secular version, "God bless you". Now, when I think about it...didn't that come around because way back in the day, people were superstitious and thought your soul would jump out of your body when you sneezed, so other people had to say these phrases quickly to prevent soul loss. How could I explain something like that to a Korean person? It sounds kind of crazy. But...in German speaking countries, they say Gesundheit, which translates as "Good health" I believe...from what I remember. That makes sense...it's not superstitious seeming...it's just wishing you good health.

I know there are some Korean weird superstitions, but I've yet to really know too much about them...but I'm sure I will find out and will post about them.

I just bought tickets to see Everclear up in Allentown. I'm pretty excited...I listened to them all of the time in middle school and high school...and still do, just not as much. I never got to see them back in the day. I hope it'll be awesome. Yay!

I have one. With Krusen (my awful 9th grade science teacher) It's all really annoying senior boys throwing stuff...and Crooke and Steve W. are in that class.
Hmm, Crooke totally almost killed me yesterday. We were coming home from the team dinner and we were "racing" John Harahan and Crooke decided to pass him at like 95 mph on this tiny street in Downingtown and we missing oncoming traffic by like 3 feet.

Well let's see...I'm less itchy...so yay! I go into LabCorp tomorrow to get some tests done. After that I'm heading to my old place to pick up some mail... I asked for my address to be changed, but it doesn't seem to have taken effect yet, which drives me crazy. I guess I should stop by the post office and see if they will forward my shit! Ah!

Last day of class today. It was fun, we got to all have a dinner together (small class of 6 women) and this Palestinian woman brought in these chicken wraps...very yummy. They had all these different spices in them. Very tasty... I really enjoyed that class, I am sad to leave it. I also had Rania (the Palestinian woman) write something for me in Arabic so I can use it for this tattoo idea I have...but I won't tell yet because it's top secret.

I watched a couple of movies in the past two days: Monsoon Wedding, A Good Woman, and Heavenly Creatures. I greatly enjoyed Monsoon Wedding...the women were all beautiful. A Good Woman had a great story line...(based on a play...why wouldn't it?). Heavenly Creatures...now that was interesting. I enjoyed the lesbian moments and the craziness, but knowing it was based on a true story is freaky for me. At the end when the mother was murdered...I just was really upset (I don't really get upset over movies) but I just wanted to be like "That isn't going to solve ANYTHING!!!" Ahh...

I bought a new digital camera yesterday. My old one was...just old. 3.2 MP. Pretty bad! I got an Olympus camera that is waterproof and shock proof. Pretty sweet. It's 8MP which is awesome. Even though I took some pretty good pics still with my old one. I feel like a bit of a traitor because I've always had Canon cameras, but I really was drawn to this Olympus one...so...

Apparently no one cares if you're under 21 and you go into casinos in Atlantic City. There are signs but much apathy.

I got to see Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, Gogol Bordello (gypsy punk whaaat? it awesome), and some punky girl band. It's awesome to see a band have so much fun and have been around for so long *and* be older than my parnents (reference to BR).

Oh yeah, Black Friday sucks.

ah...it's been too long i know.

i really need to write about my life more often.

i'm going crazy, pmsing, just...lots of weirdness.

and my boyfriend decides he needs 100 extra hours of sleep today (he took a coma, i know).

i guess i could have worse to rant about (and undoubtably, i usually do), but damn, i want some cuddle time when i come home from a shitty ass day of work.

i think i'll just fart on his head before i climb into bed.

in other news, the semester is almost over, i don't have classes until next monday...and i seem to be in good standing in *all* of my classes.

i'm sorry i haven't been around for some of you as much as i would have liked and have been in the past. my life is just bunches of hectic.

i hope you all know i think you're splendid and i hope to be LJing much more in the future. we'll see how that goes, eh?

I miss having a passion for something. Everyone has one, but I feel like I don't anymore. I used to love photography, making scrapbooks, interior design, drawing, writing poetry, making websites, making zines, fashion design, and so much more. Now, what do I do? Go to school and feel drained, go to work and feel drained. I like photography, I enjoy my work for the most part, but I don't feel like I am producing anything creative. I wish I had the time and motivation to go and take some pictures of my yard or in a park, or whatever. With real film too! The closest I get to that is taking pictures of my cats with my little digital camera. I read a lot, but I'm not producing something. I miss the way I was. I miss having free time. I barely have time to clean my room, let alone cut out pictures from a magazine to collage. I tried to do origami during the spring semester to keep the creative juices flowing, but it seems somebody put a cork in it. I miss being able to enjoy things, like college. Oh wait, I don't think I have enjoyed college really yet. Or life even, it's just been way too long since I have felt like there isn't anything I NEED to be doing or thinking about. I guess this is just me ranting about my boring life. I hate when depression decides to settle in on me.

I used to think I was committment phobic. Maybe I am. But I have reasons. When I started really liking someone and things were good, they seem to just want to disappear from my life. I keep thinking he doesn't like me as much as I like him. But it's not like I'm really vocalizing my feelings, but I do hint about these things sometimes. It's just weird. I go back and forth thinking he's crazy about me and then thinking not. I don't enjoy these feelings. I just keep thinking I'm going to invest feelings and whatnot in him and then it'll be goodbye. Kind of depressing. I like stability.
