I don't really have the time or energy at the moment to write anything.  I have MORE stories than the one I mentioned I was going to continue writing about last time.  Trust me, it will happen.

But please go to my YouTube channel and subscribe.  I have lots of random videos of Korea, so if you are interested in seeing them, please go!

Carrie in Korea

New entry soon, I promise!

By learning about the cultural rituals and gestures that go on in the country I'm living in, I notice more about my own culture.  The one that I notice is that no one says anything when you sneeze.  In English speaking countries, we say "Bless you" or the original longer, less secular version, "God bless you".  Now, when I think about it...didn't that come around because way back in the day, people were superstitious and thought your soul would jump out of your body when you sneezed, so other people had to say these phrases quickly to prevent soul loss.  How could I explain something like that to a Korean person?  It sounds kind of crazy.  But...in German speaking countries, they say Gesundheit, which translates as "Good health" I believe...from what I remember. That makes sense...it's not superstitious seeming...it's just wishing you good health.

I know there are some Korean weird superstitions, but I've yet to really know too much about them...but I'm sure I will find out and will post about them.

watch the world die...

I just bought tickets to see Everclear up in Allentown. I'm pretty excited...I listened to them all of the time in middle school and high school...and still do, just not as much.  I never got to see them back in the day.  I hope it'll be awesome.  Yay!

-note between me and Gary during senior year during study hall...i still remember that day:

What did you just say about her? [sidenote: we just got yelled at  for talking and Gary said something fast but I didn't hear him]
She reprimanded us and sounded like a theme-park ride operator.
Ahh!  I'm gonna die! [of trying to not laugh]
What a dumb teacher, lets throw stuff at her head.
She'd probably tell us to keep our hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times!
Bahahaha, damn teachers
I actually wish this was an auditorium study hall because nobody like ever tries to be quiet in there.
Yes, thats true. I had one of those in the beginning of the year, but it overlapped w/ one of my classes.
I have one.  With Krusen (my awful 9th grade science teacher) It's all really annoying senior boys throwing stuff...and Crooke and Steve W. are in that class.
Hmm, Crooke totally almost killed me yesterday.  We were coming home from the team dinner and we were "racing" John Harahan and Crooke decided to pass him at like 95 mph on this tiny street in Downingtown and we missing oncoming traffic by like 3 feet.
Oi!  Did he ever tell you about the time he hit a priest? [he didn't actually hit the guy, but tapped his car]
Actually, yes.
Hehe, he's insane. Really.  Like, I remember hanging out with him and we stole a sign or something.
Yea, you should see what's in his trunk, it's virtually a construction equipment surplus store.
Haha, Hayley gave me a cone one time, I think that's all I have that fits in that category.  Crooke and I stole this yellow arrow sign...I think it said "future" on it.
Yeah, he showed it to me yesterday, actually.
Ha! Coincidence.  Fun stuff. You circle your i's instead of dotting them.  How 7th grade girl-like.  Minus the fact you write in sanskrit. [bad handwriting]
Ha quiet, I really am a 7th grade girl in disguise, at least I don't put a heart over them and write in a gloss pink gel pen.
[large pink i dotted with a heart] Hehe! Not a gel pen, but a highlighter. So yeah when do you wanna go to Cosi?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I dunno.  What are you up to tomorrow afternoon?
I don't think I have anything to do, except I gotta be @ school @ 6:15 for back to school nite. Woo.
Yea, I don't think we'd have to stay that long anyways. Hey I'm up for some XC practice skipping. I'll just say I have a "doctor's appointment".
Sounds good to me.  I'll scrounge up some $$ for tomorrow.  We can get S'MORES!
Yes, exactly.

That was fun.  I finally have some energy now that I'm taking antibiotics for my Lyme disease.  I still feel kinda achy and weird, but less tired, but that may be because I had off today.

Oh yeah, I'm going to Otakon this year because I have been getting into anime and manga and all that.  (Thank you boxtorrents).  It'll be fun and the first day is my birthday!

Oh yeah, in case you haven't...go to this website...  If you like your internet the way it is, you'll want to check it out.  http://ipower.ning.com/netneutrality2

Man oh man...it's been a crazy last...day... Hmmm... I'm trying to write this while listening to Gogol Bordello...which will be quite a task as I find myself distracted and want to dance while listening to this... smile

My arm is still achy from having blood drawn on Friday. Fun...! I woke up this morning weirdly sore...like i had been doing a lot of ab exercises (but I haven't...:X). Work was busy as it usually is on Tuesdays. It didn't get bad until we received a call from my BFF! (kidding...big time) called in at 1:15 saying she would be 30 minutes late. She was due in at 1:30. I had planned on taking my half hour break when she got in because I have to take it by 2:00. But that wasn't going to happen if she was going to be coming in "maybe" (because you can't count on her) at 2:00. So I had to take it before she came in. So I had a million things to do and I just set somethings to print and a CD to burn while I went on break. It was nice relaxing for a bit. I came back from my break at 2:10 expecting her to be there, but no such luck. I told the cashier managers just so they would know. The CD messed up and the computer was freaking out...good times! By the time I got things under control (sorta...it was a busy day dammit!) it was 2:30 and the bitch wasn't in yet. I told S and he said we would wait and see what would happen. Well about 10-15 minutes later she strolls on in and I am...liiiiiivid.

ME: "Oh wow, I wasn't expecting you to come in."
CUNT: "Well I called..." [there was some attitude in this]
ME: "Okay well if you are going to be late-"
CUNT: "...at 1:15..."
ME: "-er then you said you need to call and let us know you are going to be later than you originally planned." [dipped heavily in attitude]

I went back to work in an angry calm. Mainly irritated that she had showed up and was now in my way while I was trying to get shit done. Half of the time I was helping people when she should have been helping them while I worked. I told her to fill up some water containers and get some boxes from the closet. I explained a few things for the night and things were okay for a while. And then seriously while I'm on the computer with my back turned to her, I hear this...

CUNT: [quiet] "CG, I quit..."
ME: >kinda like...half paying attention, half processing what she said<
CUNT: [still kinda quiet, like she didn't know if she was actually saying it] "Did you hear me? I quit."
ME: [no nonsense] "Okay. Go tell Cassie." (our boss)
CUNT: "Okay...." >starts leaving the lab< "blah blah blah no one likes me anyway blah blah blah" (something like that)
ME: [internally] "Well it's not like you've done anything to make me like you...coming in late with no apology, but with attitude plus how every day you've worked, you fuck something up and I have to fix it. Yeah, no one likes you, you're a terrible person to work with."

So I called A and said "Hey can you come to photo ASAP?" She comes over and I tell her that the Cunt quit and she couldn't believe it, but like me she was a mixture of both happiness and anger as I was.

So I had to stay an extra hour and a half closing the lab early because no one could come in. The Cunt wasn't even supposed to be working back there again ever, but John went on vacation and I didn't have anyone else. Gr! I was exhausted, but I am now happy because I know I can go home early tomorrow because I stayed late today. Yay! She is possibly the most messed up person I have worked with...it drives me crazy! But I don't want to think about her anymore...

Have I mentioned before my irritation with people writing "would of" instead of "would've". GAH! "I would of gone to the park if it wasn't raining" makes NO SENSE. "I would have gone to the park if it wasn't raining" makes sense. "would have" turns into "would've". Of is not pronounced with a /f/ sound but a /v/ sound. It does not rhyme with "fluff" but it rhymes with "above". So people just assume they are saying "would of" because it sounds familiar...or something! People type and don't realize what they are saying aloud. The /f/ sound is voiceless, while the /v/ sound is voiced. Voiced means that there is more of a vibration in your throat. Test this...hold your hand to your throat...adam's apple area and say "frank" (emphasizing the FFFFF [but do not overdo it and say "fuhrank") and then say "very" (emphasizing the VVVV). You can literally feel the voicing on the /v/ sound. See...this is why I'm a nutcase and also why I would be a great teacher for people trying to improve their pronunciation of the English language. wink

Well let's see...I'm less itchy...so yay! I go into LabCorp tomorrow to get some tests done. After that I'm heading to my old place to pick up some mail... I asked for my address to be changed, but it doesn't seem to have taken effect yet, which drives me crazy. I guess I should stop by the post office and see if they will forward my shit! Ah!

Last day of class today. It was fun, we got to all have a dinner together (small class of 6 women) and this Palestinian woman brought in these chicken wraps...very yummy. They had all these different spices in them. Very tasty... I really enjoyed that class, I am sad to leave it. I also had Rania (the Palestinian woman) write something for me in Arabic so I can use it for this tattoo idea I have...but I won't tell yet because it's top secret.

I watched a couple of movies in the past two days: Monsoon Wedding, A Good Woman, and Heavenly Creatures. I greatly enjoyed Monsoon Wedding...the women were all beautiful. A Good Woman had a great story line...(based on a play...why wouldn't it?). Heavenly Creatures...now that was interesting. I enjoyed the lesbian moments and the craziness, but knowing it was based on a true story is freaky for me. At the end when the mother was murdered...I just was really upset (I don't really get upset over movies) but I just wanted to be like "That isn't going to solve ANYTHING!!!" Ahh...

I bought a new digital camera yesterday. My old one was...just old. 3.2 MP. Pretty bad! I got an Olympus camera that is waterproof and shock proof. Pretty sweet. It's 8MP which is awesome. Even though I took some pretty good pics still with my old one. I feel like a bit of a traitor because I've always had Canon cameras, but I really was drawn to this Olympus one...so...

So I'm back again I suppose.  Writing in this thing again.  I've had it forever.   Can't let it go.  Good to see some people still use it. Mainly...Amber. And George R.R. Martin...    I'll post some back entries that I had posted on SG.  Wow I need some new icons. :)

(I write in fragments a lot...)

Motherfucker...life has been really irritating.

This class is slowly stripping away my sanity, piece by piece. It's not that I don't like the class, but I can't stand sitting in the same place for four hours. I can barely make it through a movie in the theater! Gah! My room is still a mess..I just don't have the sanity to do anything about it...stupid class! It'll be over next Thursday and then I can stop...freaking out...I hope.

I lost my SD card for my camera...which is upsetting for a few reasons: a) I didn't get to upload the last few pics I took of my new kitty b) it wasn't cheap c) there are probably some naughty pics of me on it that i don't want anyone else to find! It was in my pants pocket so it may have fallen out in the car...or something...or maybe somewhere in my room but I don't know where and I'm getting really upset about it. GRRRR

My parents annoy me, but what's new? Like that would somehow miraculously change...

Oh and I've been playing D&D more. Last time I sat next to our DM and he had just come from work and hadn't showered and was in a bad mood. Plus they were making steak. So it was an attack on the senses plus more. Not fun!
